Ideal 1

The El Paso area is part-time home to the largest variation of hummingbirds in the world. Of houses located near the center of the small circle that holds an overlap between North American and South American hummingbirds’ migration routes. By introducing local participants to this information as well as educating them on how to attract hummingbirds through feeders would bring enrichment appreciation of this location. In collaboration with the El Paso zoo and or staff/ faculty from UTEP's biology department a presentation will be developed to inform participants of the tremendous diversity of hummingbirds in this area as well is how to create a hummingbird feeder. Part of the presentation will also inform participants about plants indigenous to this area that attract hummingbirds. The presentation would be presented either at the El Paso zoo or a desert garden location.
